• Accountable for delivering robust frameworks, real-time application solutions, and implementing an efficient build and deployment processes, all on the aforementioned Hadoop infrastructure and Big Data technology platforms.
• Work with Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Development Team on real-time event-series use case requirements
• Lead the design and engineering of the application solutions and frameworks
• Implement and roll out these solutions and frameworks within the specified roadmap timelines
• Offer support and guidance to consumers/producers of any of the implemented solutions
• Ensure that solutions are robust, scalable, secured, and meet all the functional and non-functional (such as performance) requirements (User Stories)
• Bring knowledge and expertise in technologies such as Apache Spark/Spark Streaming, Kafka, Time-Series solutions, and related real-time and event-driven processes
• Work within the organization's agile engineering methodology and best practices, including iterative development, all within the scope of the organization's stated roadmap.

• Bachelors Degree required
• 3+ years of solid solution architecture and application development in the Hadoop technology stacks
• 2+ years experience in building real-time, event-driven applications within a Hadoop platform
• Demonstrated experience in architecture, engineering and implementation of enterprise-grade production big data use cases
• Extensive knowledge about Hadoop Architecture and HDFS
• Extensive and expert experience in Java, Apache Spark/Spark Streaming, Kafka, and Map Reduce
• Extensive hands on experience in Shell Scripting, Scala, or Python programming experience; Hive, Pig, Drill, HBase and SQL
• Hands on delivery experience working on popular Hadoop distribution platforms such as MapR, Cloudera, or HortonWorks
• Hands-on experience in Real-time Eventing, Time Series Databases and In-Memory Data Grids (IMDGs)
• Strong ability to drive complex technical solutions deployed at an enterprise level; ability to drive big data technology solutions and partner with stake-holders
• Ability to negotiate, resolve, and prioritize complex issues and provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
• Ability to meet Sprint Deliverables in a timely manner and within a Development Process that adheres to high-quality and high-performance deliverables
• Ability to effectively work in the organization's iterative and Agile methodology
• Self-starter who can work with minimal guidance, yet within a collaborative team environment and interaction
• Ability to effectively time-box research tasks and communicate results and recommendations
• Ability to guide and mentor others when necessary
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
